When I was younger, there was some silly cartoon about little rodents. They went around singing this song which had the lyrics, "Never say never." It was a joke from then on to catch other people saying never, and to throw this line back in their face. Well it has happened. It has been thrown around and come back full circle. In the last several months, I have done so many things that I swore I would NEVER do. So let me share some of them with you.
I NEVER wanted any man I dated or married to have a pony tail, and men having pony tails isn't wrong or bad. I thought they looked funny. As is turns out, my husband looks great with a pony tail, and I don't mind it at all. Moving on to another NEVER. I know people wear sweat pants for fashion, but the reality is that they aren't fashion, and I just thought you wore them for working out in. I said I wouldn't wear them for anything other than working out, and especially not velor seat pants. Velor is just weird, and not really flattering to most people. Turns out they are very comfortable, and when someone gives you a matching set of top and bottom velor sweat pants, well how can you say no. It doesn't mean I don't cringe all day I wear them, but I still wear them. And don't get me started on the things I said I would NEVER do that deals with my kids. So if you hear me say NEVER, you have my permission to shut me up!
My point is that I seem to be doing a lot more things nowadays that I said I would NEVER do. The reality is I probably had my nose pointed a little higher than I should have, and it's good to be brought back down to life. So what did you say you would NEVER do and did?
I love reading what you have to say. You need to write a book or something. I love you, and when I see you accepting some things you swore you would never do I just laugh inside, but with a very likeable laugh not a teasing or I told you so kind of laugh. I love you again and again. :) Mom
